My little girl recently turned 11. She's quickly become my big girl. I find us having more conversations than just talking. She got her first smart phone and she already knows more than I do about them. We spent our first Christmas season apart as she went to spend the holidays with relatives upstate. It was a little tough on me but we talked every day and I felt better hearing how happy she was to finally get to know her cousins.
Lique finishes elementary school in June. Another big event in her life. I am so proud of her work, dedication and love for school. She has tested at advanced levels statewide for three years in a row. Middle school is going to be a wonderful new adventure for her. She took a field trip to the school recently and came home thrilled about the school. It helps that most of the school was rebuilt or refurbished in the last 5-6 years. It looks like a new school. I toured it 7 years ago when her sister went there for a year. It was nice then and is much more modern now. I think Lique will be very happy there. Although after spending 8 years at her current school, 3 years will be a short stay for her.
